It’s the ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range.

New coating reduces Ghost and Flare.

The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range.

It is equipped with three pieces of SLD glass for high image quality

This lens has two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements in the front lens group and one in the rear lens group, the lens has excellent correction of chromatic aberration through the entire zoom range.

Macro shooting with maximum magnification 1:2

High optical performance is demonstrated throughout the entire zoom range. It also has a switch that converts the lens to macro photography at focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm with a minimum focusing distance of 95cm (37.4 inches). In normal mode the minimum focusing distance is 150cm (59.1 inches) at all zoom settings. Maximum magnification between 200mm and 300mm is 1:2.9 to 1:2.

Sigma 50-500mm F4-6.3 EX APO DG HSM

Last Updated on April-10-2010 Add Comments

Sigma APO 50-500mm F4-6.3 EX DG HSMHigh Magnification Zoom Lens with a 10x zoom ratio. Optimized for digital SLR cameras.

This high zoom ratio lens is optimized for digital SLR cameras and capable of covering a wide range of focal lengths from 50mm standard to 500mm ultra telephoto.

Reduction of Flare and Ghosting
The advanced optical design is optimized for digital SLR cameras. In addition, the new super coating on each glass surface produces superb color rendition, while reducing flare and ghosting.

SLD glass for superior optical performance
This lens uses four pieces of SLD (the special low dispersion) glass for excellent correction of color aberration throughout the entire zoom range.

HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor)
The HSM models (the HSM is only available for AF Canon, Nikon, Four Thirds and Sigma Mounts) provide quiet high-speed AF function, as well as full time manual focus capability.

APO Tele-Converter EX (optional)
By adding an APO teleconverter (sold separately), you can use this lens as a 140-700ÇçÇç Çe7.3-8.8 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens with a 1.4X EX teleconverter, or as a 200-1000mm F10.4-12.6 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens with a 2X teleconverter.(Teleconverters can be used in 100mm – 500mm focal length range)

Easy Operation and Handling
This lens also features a Zoom Lock device to eliminate “Zoom Creep” when the lens is tilted down. When the lens is set to the 50mm focal length, it is remarkably compact and provides easy handling. The tripod mount is composed of magnesium, to minimize total weight and also it is easy to grip and carry the lens due to ergonomic design of the tripod mount.
Non-rotating front lens elements, due to rear focus mechanism make possible the use of a custom bayonet “Petal-type Hood”, which prevents extraneous light from degrading the image quality. This mechanism also allows the use of circular polarizing filters, since the front barrel does not rotate during focusing or zooming.

Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG MacroCompact High Performance Zoom Lens with a 10.7:1 High Zoom Ratio and optimized for Digital SLR cameras
28-300mm F3.5-6.3 MACRO lens covers all the focal lengths from 28mm wide angle to 300mm telephoto with 10.7:1 high zoom ratio as well as macro capability. 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 MACRO packs a lot of performance in a compact package with ultra compact dimensions (Diameter 74mm and Length of 86mm) that make this lens the ultimate traveling companion. It’s the ideal lens all types of photography and optimized for digital SLR cameras.

New coating reduces Ghost and Flare.

The new multi layer lens coating and lens design reduce flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum color balance through the entire zoom range.

SLD Glass elements and Aspherical Lenses

This lens features one Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass element and one aspherical lens in the front lens group, and one SLD glass element and three aspherical lenses in the rear lens group. This lens provides excellent correction for all types of aberrations.

Macro photography with a 1:3 ratio

The 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG MACRO lens has a minimum focusing distance of 50cm at all focal lengths and is equipped with a macro mechanism for close-up photography at 300mm telephoto, allowing a reproduction ratio of 1:3.

Inner Focusing System

This design allows for stability and compactness in design as changes in focus are made in an internal lens grouping. This also gives the advantage of a non-rotating front lens assembly, which is of great benefit when using polarizing filter and Petal-type hood.

The “Zoom Lock” device

28-300mm F3.5-6.3 MACRO lens is equipped with a zoom lock to prevent the lens from creeping due to its own weight, and to offer protection whilst the lens is being carried.
