Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm f/4-5.6 Mega O.I.S.

Last Updated on February-19-2011 Add Comments

The Panasonic 45-200mm f/4-5.6 G Vario MEGA O.I.S. Lens is an interchangeable long telephoto zoom lens, developed by Leica exclusively for digital SLR cameras. It follows the ultra-compact Micro Four Thirds Standard, which also makes it compatible with other brands that use this same format. The focal length of this lens is equivalent to approx. 90-400mm in 35mm format terms.

By incorporating the MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) feature and 3 ED elements, this lens makes it possible to capture clear, sharp images, edge to edge, even in macro shooting or low-lit situations. This provides users with a wide range of shooting flexibility.

ED Glass
Three ED (extra-low dispersion) elements help the lens meet Leica’s extremely high optical performance standards. They help capture images that are clear from corner to corner across the entire zoom range, with minimal distortion.

Canon EF 35mm f/2

Fast 35mm wide-angle lens. With a minimum focusing distance of only 0.8 ft. (25cm), you can approach the subject closer and still obtain a more natural wide-angle effect. You can even obtain good background blur for portraits.

Released back in 1990 the Canon EF 35mm f/2 is one of the Methusalems in the current EOS lens line-up. It’s a moderate wide-angle on full-frame cameras whereas on APS-C DSLRs it behaves a little bit more like a standard lens with a field-of-view equivalent to about 56mm.

Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Lens Review by the-digital-picture.com

With a very low purchase price, the Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Lens could make a nice affordable general-purpose lens. When mounted on a Canon camera with a 1.3x or 1.6x FOVCF, the result is near the classic normal 50mm lens – a lens that many people have used exclusively for years.

The Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Lens is a nice lens – Sharpness, size, weight and price are its best features. I don’t recommend this lens for full frame body users.

Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 Aspheric G-Series

  • Compact Pancake Style Lens
  • Micro Four Thirds Mount
  • Unique Manual Focus System
  • 40mm Equivalent In 35mm Format
  • 2 Aspheric Lens Elements
  • Minimum Focus Distance : 0.66′/0.2 m

The Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 Aspheric G-Series Lens, a Micro Four Thirds system large-diameter wide-angle f/1.7 20mm (40mm in 35mm camera equivalent) manual focus pancake-style lens. The lens operates a unique manual focus system which drives the focusing group indirectly via the lens’s autofocus motor. The feel of the manual focus ring remains the same whether the camera is set to auto or manual focus which can be problematic in some shooting scenarios. The advantage is that turning the manual focus ring quickly makes very fast initial adjustments, but then turning it slowly allows very fine focusing.

This lens produces bright photos with a dramatic soft focus even in dimly lit locations. Its compact, easy-to-carry size is also ideal for capturing everyday scenes and snapshots.
