Nikon has responded to Canon’s recent price drop on some of its DSLR line-up! We are now looking at Nikon D700 at around RM6900 and RM 4700 for Nikon D300s.

And apart from this piece of good news, there’s one good news from Tamron.

As part of the celebration of Tamron’s 60th Year Anniversary, any lens purchased from 6th May 2010 onwards would entitle to get 2 years warranty but the catch is that you will need to send in your warranty card to the official distributor Futuromic (Malaysia) before May 14.

Have a nice weekend folks!

First of all, a happy Labour Day to those who worked hard all and in particular those who used their hard earned money to fund their camera gear just like us. It’s a perfect day for Canon to make this particular announcement!

As what we have been expecting over the past few days, Canon has revised the pricing for their Canon EOS 5D MK II, Canon EOS 7D and Canon EOS 50D. What’s shown below is the revised pricing for the said 3 models.

Canon EOS 5D MK II (Body) – RM8,099
Canon EOS 5D MK II (kit) – RM11,799
Canon EOS 7D (Body) – RM5,999
Canon EOS 7D (18-135 kit) – RM6,999
Canon EOS 7D (15-85 kit) – RM7,999
Canon EOS 50D (Body) – RM3,999
Canon EOS 50D (18-55 kit) – RM4,299
Canon EOS 50D (18-135 kit) – RM4,999
Canon EOS 50D (18-200 kit) – RM5,999

And, here’s a snapshot of the current product line-up Canon has to offer.

Making space for a new series? Perhaps a 5D MK II successor?

Of course, there can be many reasons that lead to the price drops. Some may say that a new model is coming out soon replacing the Canon EOS 5D MK II (Press release 17 Sept 2008).

Note that the classic Canon EoS 5D is announced on 22 August 2005. Having said that, The time span between the release of the first and it’s successor 5D MK II is about 3 years.

It has only been 1 year and 7 months. (19 months) to date since the release of 5D MK II.

Will Canon surprise the crowd again like what it did with the EOS 7D not too long ago? We are very excited!
