Moving on from our recent update to include flashguns into our tracking list, we are now looking in enhancing the sample photos search capability.

When you are browsing in a body or a flash‘s page, we will not be able to get the same  comprehensive search filters like what we can get when browsing in a lens‘s page. (See screen-shot below)

Unfortunately, in this phase, we are rushing out to provide the fundamental support for flashes first minus the search filtering feature but there’s no worry about that. We are already started thinking about it even before we release this very upgrade.

Joseph Lim:

if can filter the photo of each lens by camera body (ala pixel-peeper.com) would be a welcomed feature too.

Also, we will be looking into something much more powerful where you can define your own search criteria rather than being restricted to a specific body or a lens when browsing for sample photos.

For instance, you can do something like…. “If I pick this body Canon 500D and a Canon 15mm fisheye lens, what kind of photos will I get?“. And you can keep refining your search criteria like aperture, focal and such.

Thanks for those who have given their feedback to us. Keep ‘em comin!

Fully compatible with the latest Nikon digital and film SLR cameras, the SB-600 AF Speedlight is positioned to be the mid range flash in the Speedlight line-up. The flash features i-TTL control as part of the new Creative Lighting System (CLS), being introduced with the D2H digital SLR camera.

The new i-TTL system supports Advanced Wireless Lighting and versatile functions for up to four groups of Speedlights, with 3 remote i-TTL speedlight groups controlled through the master SB-800 or with the “Commander” function on the D70s, D70, and D200 cameras. i-TTL Balanced Fill-Flash control employs Nikon’s Advanced Data Communication system to introduce an improved method for the monitor pre-flash and wireless operation that marks an evolution in higher precision over Nikon’s acclaimed D-TTL Balanced Fill-Flash control system and forms the core of the new Creative Lighting System.

The Nikon SB-900 Speedlight is Nikon’s flagship flash unit, and the most advanced in the Speedlight range. As a replacement to the SB-800, the SB-900 shares many of the same functions, but also has some innovative additions and improvements. Its automated zoom head has been expanded to cover 17mm to 200mm lenses (in 35mm/FX format), and can cover this range in just 1.2 seconds. This flash now lets you select from three light distribution patterns: Standard, Center-weighted, and Even. It will also automatically detect if it is connected to a DX or FX format camera, and adjust itself accordingly.

The SB-900 can work as a stand-alone flash, or as part of a wireless group, either in Commander mode or as a slave (remote). The i-TTL system in this flash supports Advanced Wireless Lighting and versatile functions for up to four groups of Speedlights, with 3 remote i-TTL Speedlight groups controlled through the master SB-900. i-TTL Balanced Fill-Flash flash control employs Nikon’s Advanced Data Communication system. This system provides an improved method for the monitor pre-flash and wireless operation that marks an evolution in higher precision over Nikon’s acclaimed D-TTL Balanced Fill-Flash control system, and forms the core of the Creative Lighting System.

Note! Please note that the SB-900 is only fully compatible with DSLR cameras that support i-TTL operation. With older cameras that use the D-TTL mode, only [A] Auto mode (non-TTL) is available.

As the Canon top-of-the-line flash for the EOS-system, the Speedlite 580EX II takes the best features from existing models and adds functionality that enhances digital photography. A more powerful flash with a maximum guide number of 190′ (58 m) at ISO 100 (at 105mm focal length), faster recycling, more consistent color and enhanced controls are among the improvements that all photographers, especially those who shoot digital, will find useful.

The 580EX version II offers several improvements over the original 580EX version. It has been redesigned to match with the EOS-1D Mark III in terms of improved dust- and water-resistance, body strength, and the ability to control flash functions and settings from the camera menu (EOS-1D Mark III only). Other features include improved communication reliability through its direct contacts, a metal hot shoe, and recycling time is both 20% shorter than the 580EX and is completely inaudible.

The flash supports all current versions of TTL, including evaluative E-TTL II. This is great for photographers that shoot high contrast or reflective subjects, like those encountered in wedding photography. Photographers can now capture every detail from the black of tuxedos to the white of wide smiles and wedding dresses.
