myLensDB started from a simple price sharing platform 3 years ago to a quite comprehensive platform that let you to track prices, interactively find lenses, see photos taken by the community, engage in the discussion and many more to come. In this posting, we continue to strengthen our core feature, which is on the price tracking further.
In this release, we would be able to see list of merchants that have their pricing shared in myLensDB’s database.
Of course, we will need to make sure that a merchant’s contact information is legitimate before it is added to the merchant list.
At the merchant page, we would be able to engage in the merchant-specific discussion where we can share our experience in dealing with the merchant or post any reviews or promotions about it too. It is only tagged as Alpha release as there are lots of technical issues to sort out still. If you come across any bug or would like to give us your opinion, please do join us at our forum.

The Zeiss 50mm f/1.4 ZE Planar T* Lens is a high-speed standard lens for the exacting 35mm SLR photographer. Considered by professional photographers to be one of the world’s best SLR lenses (if not the best), this “ZE” lens is now available for the Canon EF (EOS) bayonet SLR system.
All existing exposure programs (P, AV, TV, M) and the AF verification function of the camera are supported, and lens information (focal length and speed) is passed on to the camera. Certain functions that require the use of AF lenses (various subject programs, A-DEP) are partially unavailable.

The Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 50mm f/2 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F-Mount cameras is a macro lens that provides a normal perspective and allows for close focusing down to 9.4″ (24 cm). It uses a new lens design which incorporates floating elements to ensure high performance across a wide focusing range. As a result, the lens can be used for non-macro applications and becomes a versatile ‘standard’ lens when used with a full frame camera.
The new ZF.2 lenses are an enhanced version of ZF lenses. They feature an electronic interface (CPU) that enables support of all important camera operating modes such as shutter priority, aperture priority and programmed auto exposure or manual exposure settings. Photographers no longer have to set the parameters in the camera menu as the lens now transmits standard data such as focal length, speed and the aperture setting to the camera. This data can then be viewed in the EXIF data of each picture.
