The Olympus E-P1 marks an innovative new era in digital imaging. The Micro Four Thirds camera upholds the legacy of the celebrated PEN family of cameras, with the photographic optics of an SLR and the size and simplicity of a point and shoot. Combining the still image quality of a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) with the A/V quality of both a High Definition camcorder and high-end audio recorder, the E-P1 is a virtual full-service imaging studio in one ultra-portable and stylishly retro body.
The E-P1 is the world’s smallest 12.3-mexapixel interchangeable lens system camera, yet has the creative flexibility to give you a true professional experience with ease. A still photo, video and audio recorder in one, the E-P1 creates exceptional photos, inventive slide shows and remarkable videos both for personal use or for posting on many of today’s social networking websites.

The world never gets enough! Pentax is the latest big name to join the pack on mirrorless interchangeable-lens (MILC) segment or some call it, electronic viewfinder with interchangeable lens (EVIL) camera segment.
The world of compact interchangeable-lens cameras continues to grow–and shrink. Pentax is the latest big-name company to throw its hat into the mirrorless ring with the Pentax Q, a 12-megapixel camera that’s smaller and lighter than anything we’ve seen thus far in the interchangeable-lens category.
Announced today, the new camera uses a new Q-mount lens system and will ship as a kit with a 47mm/F1.9 prime lens. Along with the Q, Pentax also announced four separately-sold Q-mount lenses, all of which are slated to be available this fall.

In the same release, Pentax made announcement on five new lenses that are specifically based on the new Q-mount.
The first of the new Q mount lineup from PENTAX are the “PENTAX-01 STANDARD PRIME” unifocal standard lens and the “PENTAX-02 STANDARD ZOOM” standard zoom lens in the High-performance series; and the “PENTAX-03 FISH EYE” unifocal ultra-wide-angle lens, the “PENTAX-04 TOY LENS WIDE” unifocal wide-angle lens and the “PENTAX-05 TOY LENS TELEPHOTO” unifocal telephoto lens in the Unique series. The two TOY LENS models are designed to produce a distinctive toy-camera-like visual effect. Read and see more photos of the lenses here.

We’ve heard strong rumors from numerous sources of an E-P3, E-PL3, and E-PM1 to be introduced at the event. We can also count on a “high grade” 12mm f/2, and there have long been rumors of a portrait lens in the works. Olympus’ own roadmap showed an upcoming ~50mm macro, so it will be interesting to see whether we get a portrait lens, a macro, or a lens which serves both purposes.
I’m hoping to see Olympus pull off a completely unanticipated, Steve Jobs-style “One more thing…” on day 2 of the event, but it seems like none of the camera companies know how to keep a secret like Apple.
We have spotted news spreading around that Olympus will be releasing new camera gears in the event to come.
Three Pen cameras, the E-PM1, E-PL3 (with tilt lcd) and E-P3. Two new lenses, the 12mm f/2.0 and 45mm f/1.8 are among what’s anticipated in the event.
