Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM is a high performance, water-resistant, and ultra wide-angle Canon L-series lens. It has been specifically designed for improved edge-to-edge image quality that will meet the strict requirements of professional and high-end amateur photographers. It features 3 high-precision aspherical lens elements, each of a different type: ground, replica and GMo for even better image quality than the original EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM. The circular aperture produces a beautiful and natural background blur when shooting at wider apertures. Other features include internal focusing, a ring type USM (Ultra Sonic Monitor), and new AF algorithms for fast and quiet autofocusing.

Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens Review by the-digital-picture.com

The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM Lens is what I consider one of the most important lenses in Canon’s lineup. Taking over the ultra-wide angle position of the available professional grade f/2.8 zoom lenses from the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM Lens, the 16-35 L II becomes the new standard for professional and serious amateur photographers alike.

Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II by kenrockwell

The Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II is a great lens that just works. When mine arrived, I took it out and shot with it for two weeks in California’s Eastern Sierra and Yosemite before I bothered to pick it apart with any formal tests.

The results for real photos are simply stunning. You ought to see them on a 30″ monitor or in print! All I can show on your screen are much smaller vignettes.

Comparing EF 16-35mm f/2.8L and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM by William L. Castleman

Both the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lenses produce superb images with minimal distortion across a wide range of angles and apertures. Both lenses have excellent central field imaging performance when shot at f/2.8. It is difficult to see a difference in the high quality images produced by either lens.

Launch Day 2 : Further development

Second day into the launch of our new look, we have managed things quite well so far. Few changes have been made to get things running more smoothly.

The classic is back in action

We managed to bring up the old (legacy) mylensdb back to live. It’s accessible at www.mylensdb.com/lensdb. However, we have stripped off the blogging feature from it as everything will be focused here from now on.

The legacy one will still be supported although the focus has shifted to the new one. Any major/catastrophic bug will still be solved on the legacy one, of course!

The new one is still learning to crawl

As much as it looks ‘alright’ and perfect on this new interface. There are still few things that we haven’t managed to cover but we are really looking into it now. What are they? You will know it when we are ready for it!

Meanwhile, enjoy your visit here. I’m sure there are plenty of stuff to discover. Please do feedback if you ’see’ anything unusual.

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 ISThis telephoto zoom lens is designed with Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer technology while retaining compactness and lightness, in response to demands of photographers. This high zoom ratio lens is equivalent to a focal length of 88-400mm in the 35mm format (when used on Canon EOS cameras compatible with EF-S lenses), and the image stabilizer effect equivalent to a shutter speed about 4 stops faster than the same size lens without Image Stabilizer. In other words, if the slowest shutter speed you could formerly hold a 250mm lens steadily was 1/250th of a second, with Canon’s 4-stop stabilization correction, you could hand-hold at shutter speeds as slow as 1/15th of a second. It also uses a UD-glass lens element to correct chromatic aberration for excellent image quality throughout the zoom range. This new EF-S telephoto lens with great features delivers excellent performance at an affordable price for all photographers.
