I can't really comment on your question here as I have not tried out the
Sigma myself before and only had a couple of brief moments with the
Canon 18-135mm.

From what I have read around, you would be better
equipped in low light compared to the Canon due to its larger aperture (f/2.8). The Sigma has also larger magnification (1:2.7 as opposed to 1:5) which may suit your needs better too.

But if you are into landscape photography, I would suggest you to look into lenses like the Canon EF-S 10-22mm too. I owned one before and often I used it back as by normal zoom lens as well as it covers the typical normal 17-22mm range (although it is still quite limited to be used as a normal zoom lens, typically 18-55mm)

Hope it helps!

Hi,I'm planning on buying a Canon 600D body only with this Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM instead of the 600D 18-135mm kit. I'm more into landscape and macro photography with a tight budget of S$2000.With lens is better Sigma or Canon in term of image quality?

Sharing!

Some discussion found online for this lens compared some other similar lenses like the Tamron 17-50 and Nikon 16-85.
