Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Malaysia Price Tracker
The most compact and lightest in the history of fast zoom lenses. Thanks to the revolutionary downsizing “XR” technology employed by Tamron in the development of high-power zoom lenses such as the 28-200mm and 28-300mm, the dramatic compactness that makes this lens the world’s smallest and lightest is achieved. Its compactness makes it look and feel like an ordinary standard zoom lens, yet the versatility that a fast constant maximum aperture offers will definitely reshape your photographic horizons.

Tamron SP AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Lens Review by The-Digital-Picture.com
No lens is perfect, but the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di Lens delivers a lot for its price. The Tamron 28-75 would be a good general purpose zoom lens choice for 1.5x/1.6x FOVCF Digital SLR body owners unable to afford (or don’t want the size/weight of) the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens.
Tamron SP AF28-75/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro review by bobatkins.com
The Tamron SP AF28-75/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro is a good lens. It’s well built, small, fast, light, sharp, flare resistant and affordable ($340 after rebate). It’s about 1lb lighter and $800 cheaper than the Canon 24-70/2.8L.

The Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR may shine with glory on APS-C DSLRs but it has found its master within the full format scope. The border resolution is generally soft at f/2.8 and you need stop down a bit in order to get a decent image quality across the frame. The lens produces very hefty vignetting figures at f/2.8 but the situation improves rapidly when stopping down a bit. The distortion characteristic is pretty good for a standard zoom lens – same goes for lateral CAs (color shadows). Bokeh fringing (LoCA) is basically a non-issue. The quality of the bokeh (out-of-focus blur) is quite good with smooth contrast transitions and circular although somewhat onion-like highlights. The build quality of the lens is Ok but nothing to rave about either. Despite its flaws it is still an interesting lens when taking the very affordable price into account.
Tamron AF 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di review by kurtmunger.com
I’m very impressed with the Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 lens. In fact, I’d prefer this lens to the Sony version. Why you might ask? Because not only is the Tamron slightly sharper wide open at the long end, it’s almost half the money of the Sony! Aside from the sharpness differences, (really minor except at F/2.8-4 at 75mm) this lens is pretty much the same as the Sony 28-75mm F/2.8 SAM.
